Abstract

The obtained conditions for the existence of discontinuous periodic and chaotic self-oscillatory solutions for a nonlinear boundary value problem for the wave equation. It is shown that the appearance of the data, the solution is equivalent to the existence of cycles or chaotic attractors in the corresponding one-dimensional recurrence map.
